Key people: Image of Scott Trelfa

Scott joined the team in February 2019 as Commercial Account Handler, having worked at a number of insurers. His daily duties involve dealing with new business enquiries, managing existing clients’ renewals and answering insurance-related queries.

An early interest in archaeology, architecture, heritage and listed buildings was sparked when he lived in a house on the site of a Roman settlement, followed by a house on the Radbourne Estate, where his mother worked, and he attended regular functions at Radbourne Hall. Today, he enjoys working with heritage buildings, including theatres, museums, listed properties and buildings of special architectural design.

Earlier in his career, Scott worked as a new business underwriter, dealing with quotes for unusual buildings, such as castles, museums and country house hotels. He particularly enjoyed accompanying the risk surveyor on visits, admitting it was quite an experience trying to measure the size of a castle with a 2-metre rule to calculate the rebuild sum!

Currently studying for his Dip CII qualification, Scott was attracted to the exciting developments at Routen Chaplin, which he says are in line with his career progression, and describes himself as being solutions-focused, friendly, helpful and approachable. In his spare time, Scott likes to take his two Jack Russells on walks and explore new places, and enjoys networking and getting to know people.
